New boat - New member

Hi all

Purchased my first boat last weekend. So stoked!
I do a lot of 4wding, camping and fishing already so excited about having a boat to add to the toys. I've grown up around boats a lot. Dad has had a couple, also went out on family and friends boats a lot growing up. But still a lot of learning to do now I have my own.

It's a Quintrex 420 Dory. It has a 40hp Merc (oil injected, electronic start, trim and tilt).
Took it to the mechanic Monday for a service and also they are doing the upgrade to 50hp.

We are only in Bris for the next couple months before moving to the Whitsundays (hence the boat purchase). Will hopefully get out into Moreton Bay a few times before the move.

Good on you mate, get into it. You will love it in NQ- heaps of options around where you are heading. A boat like that will get you around the islands on the good days and into spanish macks, fingermark, black jew etc once you work them out. The creeks around there have plenty of barra, jacks and crabs and then you have Peter Faust dam loaded with monster barra just out of Prossie. You wont know yourself.

Where are you going to live- Bowen, Prossie or Airlie?
