I've got two loose hup caps on the trailer no matter how many different caps I try. They will no doubt let water through even if they don't fall off.
Whats the best way to secure these, locktite, sika ???

Take the caps off, and lay them on their sides across a gap which will support them. If you have a bench vice, perfect, just open the jaws enough so the caps will sit in them loosely. if you don't have a vice, nail a couple of small blocks of wood to a bigger bit. Then get a centre punch and a hammer and dimple them from the inside around the rim where they fit into the hub. This should give you a tight fit. I had one hub on a previous trailer, definitely oversize, only way I could keep a cap or bearing buddy in it. Other three never needed any help. No sealant will be any help unless both surfaces are UTTERLY clean and grease free

Side cutters and bend them out about 10 times around the circle.

While I can see that working I think it would also allow water to get in.

Would be hard to beat the sikaflex.

Works good. The crease doesn't go all the way to the end of hub if that makes sense, so still forms a seal. Quick, looks dodgey, but very effective.

I use sikaflex on mine, works fine. Give the area a real good clean up first

Like sloppy fitting bearing buddies, fine brass shim.
