Hi everyone, been doing a trip to fraser every year and staying at orchid beach with 2 boats and 10 blokes for a bit of reef fishing, love fraser but we are thinking of trying somewhere a little different, first choice for everyone was 1770, but happy to take recommendations aswell, we are mostly based in Ipswich but with a few others living at mundubbera and another at Mackay, travel isnt really much of an issue, been looking around for a while now and can't seem to find many plces in 1770 that would suit us, doesn't need to be pretty, tv not needed, boat parking yes, plenty of car parks, beds for 10 guys, most of us have swags, and needs to be near the ramp, if anyone knows of somewhere like this It'd be great if they could send me the details
Cheers, Corey

Gday Corey, mate we stay up there every year at a place called Seachange Loft. We normally take 2 6.5m+ boats and 4 vehicles. 8 blokes only but with swags 10 would be easy. There is 2 toilets, 2 fridges and plenty of parking with a vacant block next door. It is located in Agnes right behind the block of shops so handy for that. 5 minutes to the ramp. Walk to the tavern. Great spot and I would recommend it. We are heading up again in May for our 6th year straight.

cheers

Lots of good houses to rent at Agnes Water, which is much less expnsive than 1770 and better access to shops, pub, etc.

We rent thru these people:

www.1770beachaccommodation.com.au (http://www.1770beachaccommodation.com.au)

We have stayed at a house called "Agnes Retreat" a couple of times now and it was great. So good that We have rebooked it two more times for trips during 2016.

Quite new, room down the side for 2 big boats- our group has a 7m Seaswirl Striper and a 6m cat.

It is 4 bed/2 bath good outdoor area, big filleting table, several freezers in garage.

Gate to side area is a touch narrow, but unless you've got a trailer on the max width limit (like ours are) you will do it easy. We just take it steady and our boats get through with a hairs breadth each side!

If you look on the agent's website and check out the houses, then give them a call to talk about your needs, they will help you out. Nice people. Expct prices to go up significantly in school holiday periods, which are to be avoided!

Also contact PRD Agnes Water and talk to Michelle. Tell her you are an Ausfish member and your specific requirements.

Corey,

1770 is an expensive place to stay and has minimal houses like you want. Better off staying at Agnes Water as it is only 6k's to 1770 boat ramp, and much cheaper with a lot of accom options.

Have a look through the M & G forum here to find out about a lot of stuff there.

cheers LP
