Have no experience with Boat Fenders, but looks like I will be tying up to floating Jetty's a bit more.

To me in theory, the flat fender around 40mm thick will not slide up out of the way and allow the FG boat to hit the pontoon.

Appreciate your comments

Thanks

Peter

I have the round ones and they seem to work fine.

Any fender will catch and ride up given the right conditions - even aircraft tyres held on with chains :o - scary when they try to jump up on deck next to you LOL. The flat ones possibly are a little better but are typically thinner so less room for error so to speak. Personally I have round ones but have arranged them in 2 lots of three in a "chain" so the middle one (a slightly larger size) sits on the water and the other two hang beside the boat. The pontoon where I launch has a lip that the one on the water catches under - stopping the others from riding up.
