Hi. Chasing some constructive feedback (pros and cons) on 1998 Haines Hunter 620sf. It has a Suzuki 175hp. Looking at one on the weekend.

Never been in one but mates had one and they rated it very slappy in the nose. It got better with trim tabs but not the best boat of their range by the sounds.

Hi Barra,I had a 620 sf HH about five years ago .Great boat and very safe and capable, had no trim tabs as they were not needed.Had a 175 two stroke evinrude which was enough power, would still have it but wanted rid of the smokie t/st and old trailer but when I did the maths it was not worth it ,so I traded it.175 Suzuki 4/st would be great.you should take it for a spin Idont think you,ll be disappointed. [no slappy nose, maybe adjust the trim to suit conditions] cheers Andy

SmokinJoe do you know how much your 620sf BMT weight was with standard load on board? The one I'm looking at sits on a mechanically braked trailer not electric override. I would've thought for sure this BMT, with batteries, anchor winch and 1/2 fuel would be over two tonne.

... I would've thought for sure this BMT, with batteries, anchor winch and 1/2 fuel would be over two tonne.Yep! Not so long ago a lot of 6.2 -6.25 'real size' glass boats were all being sold with 2t trailers and mechanical override brakes.

On a decent HDG trailer they would be flat out being under 2t dead empty, with no fuel. Ask for a weigh bridge cert or include in the contract, then use it to bargain.
Cheers
Brendon
