Hi all, just wondering if anyone has used one of these as a rear awning on a half/cuddy cab.
I would attached to the rear of the existing bimini and use the uprights at the back of the awning and connect to the top of the transom.

Several friends have boats that have a slide out shade extension - modelled on the one that Cruisecraft suply in their Outsiders. I think they had it done by the canopy guys down Yatala way. Works well when you want the shade, and stays pushed back out of the way when you want ti fish.

Just remember that a fixed rear bimini limits your casting ability :-[ you really want to be able to fold/slide it out of the way when needed..

How much extra shade do you need? Will a simple rear bimini extension like this be sufficient?

The CC slide out extension is by far the best design but would require alot of mods to your current bimini especially if your limited with headroom already.

A $2 tarp and some tent poles also does the trick ;D

I'm assuming you cant use this style extension due to walkaround?

The above rear extension is what I have and folds away in seconds or removed completely in a few more.

The ones pictured are very weak and flimsy, not to sure being attached to the transom would make for easy fishing?

I reckon you're right Noelm. I was going to have the rear uprights the same width as my bait board. Probably still be a pain in the ass.
The cruise craft style looks like the go Moonlighter/Triple. I was just worried about head room under my existing bimini that the slide out would take up.
Back to the drawing board.

Wardy can the slide out be fabricated to slide above the existing canopy?
