Have been fiddling with a little project after getting the idea from a post on here.
Made some underwater lights to hang behind the boat ( or on the side if you want)
Just hook them to the ski hooks and chuck them over, they sink below the outboard. Retrieve from one side ( where the power is.)
Just joined 4 lights on a 6 foot length of 6mm ally and one waterproof joiner each wire centrally.
Crimped some 500lb leader to some snap hooks and small u bolts .
Put a dedicated 2 pin plug under the gunwhale and ran it on the led light circuit , separately fused.
A 1800 level bag holds it all together.
Tested yesterday in 10 knots, needed a couple of 10 oz leads to keep it down with strong run, but lit the place up like xmas!
Made the night fishing easy with line visibility, and we got a couple of nice snaps before first light.
Sure its a bit clumsy, but no holes in the transom, and only take when you need it.
A fun little job , and not much cost.
Now for the squiddies.
Cheers
Brendan
