Hi everyone,

I bought a new boat last weekend and as the title says I'm so excited I'm going to wet my pants haha

Trouble is I have to wait 6-8 weeks for it to be made then up to 2 weeks for the fit out.. Don't know how I'm going to cope!

Bought a Stessl Trophy 5.3, had to take into consideration that my wife and I scuba dive just as much as we fish and she wanted the walk around centre console for when she is casting for Mac Tuna and chasing it around the boat trying to land it haha

Got the walk through transom door, dive ladder, plumbed live bait tank/bait board and a 90hp 4 stroke. Looking forward to lots of fishing and diving holidays all the way up the coast and around Australia.

I know lots of people will say you could have gotten more/better boat second hand etc etc but to be honest I looked at a hell of a lot of boats and when I flew up to Tweed to look at it it was exactly what we wanted and was way big enough for my wife and I to handle and tow around. It's nice buying something new for a change rather than buying everything second hand and inheriting other people's problems.

This is the Stessle Trophy 530,

Hopefully we we will get to meet some of the forum members on the water
Boat name is " Filthy Oar"

There's a certain appeal to be able to tell your missus "Honey, I'm just going to dump my load in the filthy oar" when you're loading the boat up!
Nice rig well done!

Looks very nice. looks like a ladder and doorway over the pod for getting back on board for your diving. looks a true dual purpose boat.

Yes definitely Feral,

The ladder in the previous pic is just a standard ladder. I am having this ladder installed during the build. A lot more robust and the grab rails on the ladder itself will make it a lot easier to get out of the water especially if it's a bit bumpy.

Ive just asked for them to add the mount for an electric motor as well.
easier to do it now rather than later!

Cant wait a it to get it in the water :)

Looks great. Some fun times ahead.

Great girl yours- normally they insist on a cabin / toilet / shower / kitchen / walk in pantry. you get my drift.

Great looking rig Nick. Just be careful in heavy chop mate. If you pound the filthy oar too hard and the hull splits, you'll end up with a crack oar.

Haha I'll make sure I'm nice and gentle with her!

I also remembered that eventually I'll buy an electric motor as I've read so many people love them and wondered how they lived without them! Anyway it's a lot easier getting the mounting plate welded on now during the build than it is later. This is what it will look like, split bow rails and also the rails will be lower as apparently the higher rails get in the way and make it awkward.
