We are so far behind as a country it's a same this isn't available for normal cars let alone boats.

That could save me approx $500 per trip to 1770.

Downside is bulk of fuelgas cylinders, refueling on long trips, corrosion of pressure vessels and lines, gas leaks in confined areas.

Diesel outboards will be the future.

All plastic tanks and lines and LNG is lighter than air so no accumulation. i do agree that Diesel will be next inline and probably better supported day one if they address the weight issue.

I can't see why there would be much of a weight difference in diesel outboard engines. The current 4 stroke engines would not need much modification to become diesels.
compression ratios for current diesels is well down on earlier models, injection systems are well up in pressures compared to the older ones too. I imagine stress factors not being a whole lot different to a 4 stroke petrol engine.

Time for Honda, Yamaha, Evinrude and Suzuki to take notice and start developing diesel outboards Turbocharged of course!!
