My tank holds around 115 liters and they say that over time the fuel will loose its octane rating (Go Stale).
My motor is a 115hp Yamaha 2 stroke.
Do many people use an octane booster for their boats?
While i'm on the subject of fuel addatives dose anyone use any product for keeping the fuel system clean.

Cheers Dazza

I am sure others will disagree, but I don't hold much faith in snake oil in bottles and cans, while I am pretty sure most will do no harm, I feel that none of them will fix your stale fuel, fix the leak in your radiator, stop your gearbox from grinding and so on, so for me, I prefer to use the boat more often, and forget about additives.

I agree nothing brings back stale fuel. If you put a fuel treatment in you should do it when the fuel is new or close to new. If you do that you will extend the life of your fuel. Startron fuel enzyme treatment is one such product as well as Stabil and Fuel doctor.

I think that the other thing we all learnt from the fuel company info about this issue is that a tank full to the top will last much better than a half full tank. Less evaporation, less loss of volatiles from a tank that is full.

I chuck a bottle of injector cleaner or octane booster in when I fill up every now and again but I don't worry about any kind of fuel stabilizer because I don't leave any more than 20 litres of fuel in the tank for any length of time.

Lotions & potions..

Banana skins definitely quieten whining car diffs Noel, if you peel them skinny you can fit them through the fill hole and you also get to eat a banana.
In desperate times I've used 'Holts' radiator/head snake oil that also worked.

I agree most work in some fashion, but (in my opinion) most are just at best temporary patches or straight out snake oil, marketed to make you believe that by adding this miracle chemical, your fuel will last forever, your car will go faster and further, your engine will be cleaner and so on.
