Filling the leg with oil ...

Can anyone tell me if the leg (mine is a 05 F80) can be filled from the top hole, rather than pushing it in from the bottom hole (drain hole).

I've always wondered why they are filled from the bottom.

From the bottom so there's no air pockets.
It's easy with a little pumper bottle.
