It will be interesting to see how many bargains there are.

It is amazing that auction fever can get people going and they can be so out of touch with actual prices, and also forget about that 17.5% buyers premium on top.

Edit - after a quick look at page 1 of many, someone has to find a bargain there.

Graysonline hardly gets bargains. people get auction hysteria and the price goes way way above bargain level. Then the add ons..... Buyers Premium 17.5%................ hardly a bargain.

Check out the lures! WAYYY over the top - do people not check what is available retail?

Eg: Lot 120 - 15 x Gillies Ockta Jigs = available every day of the week at BCF for under $10ea.

Someone has bid to the point where their bid + 17.5% "buyers premium" (aka commission) - it is more that what you'd pay at your local BCF, and you get to pick your colours - and don't need to buy in lots of 15 lol.

I don't understand..

Why would anyone need 27 pairs of dive gloves?

I suspect a few things will be on ebay soon :-)

Haha, this is GOLD.

There's idiots on there already bidding well over retail. Eg - something that retails anywhere not even on special for $140 is already at $159 before the 17.5% commission that is added. So, it's going to owe $186.85 and there's still hours to go. Plenty of those examples lol.

BIAS would have been better off not having store fronts and instead auctioning everything. Seems the way to get top dollar!

Still some bargains but there are idiots on there that have auto bids, don't they realize because of their laziness it pushes the final price up very quickly.

My wife said she would like the timber steering wheel to hang on the wall.

Now I don't know what to do??

Do I go to Whitworth's on the weekend for their sale and buy it for $145, or do I bid on the one at Gray's that is currently at $410 inc commission??

I'm so confused!!

I'd have a go at that if I had a boat big enough!!

Have you seen the size of those fairing blocks, nearly 2 foot long and 5 inches high.

Grays auctions don't have definite end time.
With "going, going. gone..." style options that keeps extending the deadline, pricing will only get higher as bidders get anxious

Not sure what's going on, I bid for an item, said I had won the bid and then the going, going, gone was listed but when I checked later I didn't win the bid, kind of socks, have I misunderstood something,

Grays auctions don't finish until it has been a clear 10 minutes from the last bid put on. That could be as early as the scheduled finish time, or go on indefinitely if people keep bidding. When the scheduled end time is up, it moved to "going going gone" until 10 mins with no bids.

I have seen things go of hours after finishing, with guys bidding every 9 or so minutes! waiting for the other guy to give up and go to bed I guess...

I think there were some bargains to be had if you wanted to buy bulk lots, but otherwise hard work for guys after one of two things.

I think the problem was that I was trying to use my smartphone phone (should be named frustrating phone for some of us) while having a few beers at the loacal and misread what was happening. Not done auction on line but at a live auction "gone" does mean final bid accepted. Live and learn but really wanted that stress free winch, went for a song.

I was watching the lowrance media servers. They ended up going for a very high price for which you could pay $50 extra and get your warranty....

Makes you wonder if there are insiders at play or shill bidders driving up the price... A simple 2 sec google search shows retail prices well below a lot of those final auction prices.

Will be interesting to see how many things turn back up on grays for auction due to non payments etc once people realize they overpayed.

I was trying for the same item and left them too it as the price was getting close to shop price. You are right Julian 50 bucks more and have the warranty would be better. Can pick them up at present from BCF for just over the $200.

The bidding wars last night was just insane.
I had a heap of lots that I was bidding on over a couple of hours ranging from clothing through to bulk lots of electronics and chandlery and I did not win one single item.
Many items that I checked the wholesale prices on and they were way above them and some above retail prices.

Some of it was silly, but there were a few good deals. I bought a smallish box of gear for $110 inc premium, worth over $1000 retail. I will use 400 worth of the gear and sell off the rest at half retail. Also bought elec cable(which I needed). One twin flex roll there alone is about $800 at cheapest retail, more by the metre... There is another 16 rolls including some 25mm2 which I was about to buy, so worth it to me. If I Sell some of the rolls at half new price, I will Cover the cost easily enough. I think if you bought a bulk lot with some gear you needed and other to sell, there were some good deals. The smaller individual sales seem to be over bid.

Picked up my purchase yesterday. Bit of depressing place. Sort of hit home the current economic environment. Lots of mine vehicles, the smart liner range of boats in various stages of finish. A lot of companies doing tough out there.

The one item I ended up with was just over half retail after adding the premium, so I am happy with that. A lot of the other stuff went stupid.

I thought it was an ally floor with a non slip coating? looked nice though, have they already been auctioned? they look like they have been out in the weather for a little while.
