Folks, probably not really a fishing topic (but I will turn it into one) but a bunch of local Rotary clubs are getting together to hold a rubber duckie race at Shorncliffe. Its a fundraiser for Hummingbird House, which is a palliative care facility for children. They will be selling ducks for $5. This is the first year for it, so looking to get people along to support it. It will be held on the foreshore of Cabbage Tree Creek, which is on Allpass Parade at Shorncliffe.
Now how does fishing fit into it? Well its supposed to be a community event, and its supposed to draw the kiddies in. The Rotary club a looking for community groups to get involved, so if you know of any fishing clubs that might want to hold a day for the kids then pass on the info. You can PM me and I will put you in contact with the organisers. Obviously the more groups that get involved, the more people that will turn up which means more money raised for such a fantastic cause.
