Max width is 2.5 mtrs.without permits flashing lights etc. (that is total overall width)

Just to add that is boat and trailer width or combined overall width at widest point . Neither can be over 2.5m not even a mm. If the boat on the trailer is off center and the width combined becomes becomes 1mm over 2.5m you are probably uninsured and considered guilty if RTA inspects or a accident happens. Every policeman knows the overall width rules and are getting schooled in load restraint updates as well.

Watch out for trailer lengths and overhangs of trailers by load as well especially in regards to visibility of lights etc

NSW RTA inspectors are sticklers if you get pulled over ( rare but police may escort you to checking station) or if they are called in by police or the police investigators after a fatality.
