Oh? I thought people like pontoons. It's the only way I can put the boat in on my own when there's no suitable sand beside the ramp to run the boat up onto.

no pontoon, no dredging, butt tie off hooks along the edge of the ramp!

pontoons are scheduled to be put in at wello point and Raby bay. I just hope that if they do go in, NO fishing on pontoon signs are erected.

Your right most of them don't read the signs, but they can't complain if you cut there lines or break a rod when they refuse to move them...

True, should be a baseball bat with each sign

I just give people a little warning if they dont wind in there lines if I am trying to pull alongside the pontoon. I cruise past slowly and happily say with a massive smile " just letting you know I'm gunna do a loop and pull up there guys, wont be long, might wanna wind them in"
If they dont, stiff shit to them. I did my best .....

Had a look this arvo - rigging area and boatramp are halved for the weekends with two very tight lanes. Unexperienced backers will have issues I think with the imposing plastic barriers on the northern side.

Will be chaos at busy times as the beaching area is not available...

spoke with one of the workers there today, he said it will be like that for a month for each side of the ramp

Anyone been along to confirm these works are finished? If so, how does it look?

Not finished yet, we're still working on the second 1/2 two weeks ago.

they were half way up the second side last weekend. the ramp itself is good. but they dumped football size rocks along the edges of the new ramp, so it's difficult to drag your boat from the ramp to the beach and back. at dead low tide, the water is very shallow right in front of the ramp. i saw a new jetski suck up a heap of spoil 2m out, though it didnt help when he gassed it up when leaving!

Sounds like the new ramp at Raby bay which is pretty useless at low tide.

Raby bay is pretty useless any tide. Pontoon should help heaps. Should attract heaps more boaties. Good!

Their only good If boaties know how to use them and not hold everybody up, and they can stop people from fishing from them.

Poles are done at Raby (right down the guts of the left side ramp) but the pontoon is not being installed until june 6th.
