How would a 2200 fisherman go with a DF140 Suzuki ? To underpowered?

It would probably be OK with light load. The 2000 fisherman goes OK with a 115 4 stroke but not a rocket ship by any means. I reckon the 175 zuke would be a nice fit.

I hAve the Yalta Odessa 2000, with a 175 Zuk and its a. Awesome donk on my rig. Have you considered even the 150 which is a big block same as the 175
from my point the 140 would be a significantly underpowered

Is your 140 the new model? I've got the new 140 on a 580 Cruise Craft and it goes great! I get 37 kts top end in lightship and ample hole shot. Cruise Craft quoted Hull weight 950 kg. 21 deg dead rise. How does that compare to the Yalta? I have been very surprised with the performance on my hill of this motor. I was worried it wouldn't be enough grunt also, but it's perfect.

Have a look at the Baysport 620 offshore hulls on the Brisbane Yamaha website. They are reasonably priced like the yalta's.
I 'm sure you could buy one hull only.

2200 dry weight of 850KGs. I'd really look at selling the 140 zuke and going to a 175 as one more drop stated.

I have a 150 on my 555HC which is only 720KG and it performs quite well. I'ts very responsive through-out the RPM range.

THE suzuki 140 has a small footprint in the water (small prop) and small block. even though it's only 10hp more the 150 suzuki, merc etc have much bigger gearcase and prop which means less slip. Also much more cubes. I personally would go the 175 zuk as others have reported good figures with that hull. 3.0 litre merc 150 might be ok too
