Hi all,

I want to start using my Lucanus jigs, but not sure if I have a rod that will suit this style of fishing. The ones I have that might fit the bill are an old Shimano snapper special fibreglass - medium action but a really soft tip. The other one, which may be a bit light is a Team Daiwa 4-6lb with a very soft tip, but would be a bit light in the butt for bigger fish - its a great rod for fussy bream and smaller snapper etc.

If none of the above is recommended by those who use them, what rod would suit (cheaper than the Tescata or T-Curve vertical jigging rod)?

Cheers

I use a Pflueger Patriarch 7ft 4 - 6kg with 15lb Tas line to a 12lb flouro leader on a 2500 reel. Works for me :-D

In all honesty most rods will work, though slower action rod are usually better. The slower action seem to work well with the small hooks on the octos to get a hookup and to avoiding pulling the hooks.
