Odie - Im also looking to purchase some deep cycle batts - I'm looking at Trojan t-105 6v 220aH (will run two banks of two at 12v). Check golfcartbattery.com.au - best prices Ive found for those. UNfortunately - pickup options are toowombah, Yatala or Slacks creek in SEQ. I'm contemplating a trip to brissy this weekend to pickup (and have an excuse to go fishing ith a mate living at bribie :)

lol battery world! take your wallet. If you want to pay absolute top dollar then go there.
I'd try google. ebay is a good start, but there are dedicated sites

Sometimes you have to make a decision between a good battery and a good price. I use Fullriver Deep Cycles. My originals are about 9 years old and still going.

^^^What he said. You get what you pay for in deep cycle batteries and cheap ones are false economy. Last big optima (75 ah) I got was off the internet delivered from Melbourne for about $320. My last one was just over 10 years old by the time it died and was used every day.

yeah, but price said battery from battery world. century marine for example, and compare it with any other retail outlet.
they wanted almost $100 more for an N70 century for example

I get what you're saying about Battery World pricing, but I've found their service bloody good a few times that I've flattened truck batteries. They will come out anytime and swap them for free. How's this: our first trip to Airlie Beach in my Seafarer a couple of years ago, we got to the ramp and discovered dead batteries. Bugger, I had meant to replace them before the trip, but forgot (they were unknown age). So its 7pm and I call the battery world 1300 number. Dude from Mackay answers and we discuss what's needed. Long story short, he was willing to drive from Mackay to Airlie Beach at 7pm with 2 new batteries for just $120!! Whilst we didn't take him up on it, I was blown away by the offer of such above the call service.

I have a spare 70amp sealed gel cell that's 12 months old and had little use, certainly over 50% of it's life left. You can have it for $30 if you want it.

Brisbane northside mate.
I've got 2 spare batteries here now. Both identical sealed 70 amphr deep cycles, USA manufactured. Used but still plenty of life left, still test good with over 1/2 their life left, 1 is only about 1 year old. I thought I sold them but the guy never showed.
Anyone can have them both for $50. Any probs with them and you can have your money back.
