I have an old 1969 evrinrude 55hp triumph. it's a fairly heavy unit and I'm slowly destroying the propeller on the ramp at the dam as I cannot lower it from the boat so I have to do it before I get the boat in the water. (the damage is very minimal, only an occasional bump on the surface).
I would LOVE to install a power tilt and trim unit but have no idea where to start. I know buying a new motor would probably be the easiest way but I don't have the money to throw around.

Any suggestions?

Bob's Machine Shop in the US make them. I put one on my 25hp EFI Merc. They'll cost you about $800 from memory. Solas Propellers should be the local agent.

I had a cmc unit on my 30hp Suzie and was very happy with it- cost me about $1200 but that was some 5 years ago.
