I need a good aluminium welder, would prefer a mobile one as parking a 7m sharkcat in some of those small factory units isn't fun. The boat is currently near Jacobs Well getting some fibreglass work done and I would like to have the welding done before I paint the insides. I have rang 2 welders so far, both of who said they would contact the fibreglasser (Adam for those that know him) neither did.
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Doug.

Thanks Big Hopes, I see what else comes up, nice drive and great place, I have I think about 3-4 hours worth of preferably tig welding, I have done a fair bit using my mig, it played up a fair bit and also the operator wasnt as good as he used to be, so most of it is just tidy up and finish off.

I've used Daniel for some work on my explorer tinnie: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bundamba/other-business-services/sharp-s-engineering-aluminium-fabrication-and-repair/1025324508

Only a small job but I was happy with the outcome/price.

Cheers,
Shane

Tig welding 3 / 4 hrs is going to need water cooled torch with a good duty cycle really think you need to take it to a workshop unless a mobile guy with a generator driven Miller or Lincoln or similar

sharkcat, seeing as u have mig welding experience why dont u invest in a new aluminum mig welder u can pick one up for around $300-$450 on ebay and a small bottle of argon, the welder is a "LOTOS" brand and comes with a aluminum spool gun free

heres mine welding 1.6mm up to 6mm aluminum and im not even good at welding

Thanks Rodneyk and Gazza, I actually did buy one of the cheaper mig inverters welder with a traveller not long ago in anticipation of doing the boat, in this case I got what I paid for. Its been a long while since I welded aluminium and I cant seem to get the setup right, so basically most of it is welded but I'm not happy with the job I did, to now go over the lot with another weld I would have to grind the current one back a fair bit and a lot of it isn't accessable to a grinder, I thought a good tig welder could just tidy my welding up and finish it off since it has already been filled.
Again thanks for you help and suggestions
