Does anyone know if the end cap is removable of my DF140 tell tail as it seams I have picked up a couple of grains of sand which wont pass through the little hole in the end of the tell tail

Yeah they pull out with a bit of help from some pliers.

Just poke a bit of heavy whipper-snipper line or 50lb fluorocarbon line in there while the engine is running and 90% of the time that will dislodge it and the water will flush it out.

I use a toothpick and swirl it around as it is running. This often dislodges any sand in that part. In my motor I can pull the tube apart just above that point and back flush it as well.

I had a weak tell tale on my Suzuki DF90. the issue was a stuck thermostat.

Get a long piece of thin wire and while you have motor running with muffs play around and it'll clear easily, then leave the wire in your boat

Personally I would not poke anything up there except some fishing line or something soft enough not to puncture the hose.......The Suzuki has an end cap on the hose with a small hole in the side to give it some back pressure and to move the "squirt" to somewhere you can see it traveling along at speed.

Poking a piece of wire up there is asking for trouble IMO.......
