Hi all,

Shane from Solas has been great and sent me a new 3 blade and 4 blade to try. Can't believe how much difference the 4 blade made. Amazing mid cruise performance but didn't quite get to wot as maxed out at 4500 mid weight.

wondering what my next options are?

4 blade was a 14 and 1/2 inch 14 pitch. I wonder if aluminium same prop might get the extra 200rpm need to get to wot range.

My experience with 4 blade props are limited, mainly to do with ski boats, but they have fantastic low to mid level range, but you loose out on top end.

basically you need a certain amount of blade surface area to give you prop efficiency. Fall below this point and you get a prop that revs but goes no where

What engine is it?

I would be looking for a 16 x 14 3 blade to try

Hi Garry,

5.0l mpi. I ran the 4 blade which was simply amazing nose didn't lift a bit and got an extra 5knots for 600rpm less but couldn't get to WOT. So back to the 15inch 14p 3 blade. I guess the 16inch is an option if i can get it to WOT.
