Hi all I have not launched from here in a long time just asking if they have upgraded the ramps with some ware to tie the boat instead of hauling up onto the rocks and sand just while parking the trailer or retrieving the boat

2nd set of ramps are currently under construction, when thats done, the pontoons are going in, which will make launching and retrieving much better and avoid the sorts of issues you mentioned.

Probably a few months to finish it all off.

Don't count on it. As soon as the pontoons are available you will get dhs tying up to the pontoon for who knows how long blocking access for others.

Fish cleaning and toilet facilities would be nice as well...Over to you Mark Robinson and or the council...

I don't think there is anywhere apart from Scarborough that has fish cleaning facility's it is ridicules that's the only place I have seen anyway

And perhaps dredge the channel

They need to dredge the channel and the basin. Not keen on fish cleaning there, no where for the fish frames to go, unless It's in a bin.

If they dredge a channel put the cleaning table on the opposite side of the marine rescue building to attract bait. Then use cast net from the shore permanent live bait supply before leaving

Most ramps on the northside have cleaning tables. You would think with the ramp upgrade down there they would put some in.

I see the second ramp is now open.. Does anyone know if they have dredged the channel and basin yet?

And still no pontoon...

No they have not. You can't use it at low tide. Write to mayor of Redlands council complaining like I did. Im still waiting for a response from them. But unless we complain nothing will hapen.

It is a massive waste of rate payers money that ramp! What a joke! Would have been better just putting a pontoon in on the existing ramp instead of installing another one the same.
