Buying overseas help pls

A mate is thinking of getting a furuno 587 from "##### imports", has anyone had dealings with these guys before?

Haven't had dealings with them but I have imported a 587 and also a 12" Garmin. Saved a fair bit of money when the Aussie was $1.05 US but both were running outdated programmes I had to update for differing reasons. Something to consider
