I have a bunk trailer with carpeted bunks, its less then 12 months old and the carpet has worn through on the inner edges. I have seen some bunk trailers with white plastic skids. These were grooved and 100 mm wide.
However I can't find them anywhere and was hoping someone on here knew who sells them.

Buy solid stock and groove it with a router

sounds like the angle of your bunks is wrong, they should wear flat on the top not on the edges.

This is what I have on my trailer : http://www.surfixinc.com/surfix_trailer_bunkslides.html They don't have grooved slides but they work very well and they don't mark the gelcoat. You can get them in different widths , they come pre-drilled with S/S self tappet screws, you can screw them on your bunks on the top of the carpet, I would take the carpet off because it holds salt water.

So far works good
Also so easy to winch on 103080

I've just used some composite decking material from Bunnings on my bunks, used a counter sink bit and stainless screws at 250mm centres.

I winched the boat on and off a few times while setting up the trailer and it seems to be pretty good, slides easily enough and centres nicely, although I have noticed some marking on the bottom of the hull.

It's a platey, so no issues but I'd probably think again if it was glass.

The old white grooved rubber bunk material was a real bitch to load and unload. It was very sticky. The new Teflon products on the market are a vast improvement. The vast majority of bunk trailers use the red or blue screw on strips without any issues.

Gazza that looks like the stuff, I thought it was stiffer than that. I brought what i wanted in the US and should have it in a few days. It's 10 pieces 3" wide by 15" long.

we have nothing compared to the amercians mate basically we have the red and blue strips, poly planks, and the white strip or carpet, the amercians have a massive range of bunk materials
