(thanks to goorus for title)
After a few years without a boat, I'm back in the game. woohoo!(thanks homer)
I've been known to keep a little bit too much gear on board. That is "have to use lanolin to get more than two on board" too much gear.
Of course, you need tackle box, rods and reels, bait or cast net, anchors, rope, and of course, zip ties.
Can anyone list the essentials the put on their boat? fishing offshore and inshore and rivers and crabbing and prawning.
I would start with EPIRB, lifejackets, flares, mirror, bucket, torch, signal sheet, landing net, boat hook, bait knife, braid scissors, other knife, fishing pliers and rag. (old cloth nappies are the best)
What have I missed?

pillow for a nap when things are quiet. Repellant for the midges or mosis if you get too close to land.

Either a thermos or a gas ring to boil water for tea / coffee. Fridge / esky for food and drink and milk.

beacon to beacon

anchor retrieving float and stainless steel split ring to slide over anchor warp to retrieve the anchor in deep water.

I'll keep that in mind Dave. And I won't take it personally; I wouldn't trust me either.
