Wondering if there are any 15hp Honda outboard owners out there that can vouch for the engines. The 2 cylinder 4 strokes have a reputation for vibrating. I owned a suzi 15hp 4 stroke a couple of years ago and the vibration as terrible.

I had one along time ago was a good motor but a bit gutless but it was smooth and great on fuel
I've got a Honda 8 on the tinny mate if you want to drop round and check it out or take it for a spin. 96 model from memory.
Cheers

Are you looking new? Or an older model?
I have a 20hp..... and everyone is sick of me raving about it.
If you are after an older model, I know someone in the park of Emus that has a 15hp that may be able to answer any questions.
Something sounds wrong with your 15 Suzi......we had one on a 10ft punt for use in the marina and it ran like a swiss watch......definatly no vibration issues what so ever........Has it been to a mechanic?.......

Yeah its a square shape Honda Pip, might be interested in that. Thanks mate.
They all do it Dan, I know the local Suzi dealer and was talking to him the other day about them again. Being a 2 cylinder 4 stroke the pistons move up and down together causing the shaking/vibration. I had the engine on an OLD quinnie and the vibration caused noise louder than a 2 stroke!! Probably alright in a marina for short trips, but 10km up the creek and it would give you the sh!ts.
Might catch you at the BBQ on Friday Craig.
Yes, two cylinder square top model.
Should be there Friday unless its pouring or stupidly windy.
Cheers
Craig
I know a bloke with a 20HP Yamaha 4 stroke and I nearly bought one myself. Great engine.
I've spent a fair bit of time with a square top 15. They idle fine and plane like a two stroke. I wouldn't say they were necessarily worse than any others, but the anchor in the well up the front of the Quintrex explorer definitely gets a bit of a harmonic going when it touches the hull if you know what I mean. 60 k.g. Is a bit rich for a portable motor IMHO.

I bought it, it is definitely smoother than a 15hp suzi 4 stroke. I have only done a uick 10km trip but I am impressed so far.
