Hi guys, I've recently bought a 2010 Tournament 1750 with a 115 Etec. Everything is in great condition but with this weather I've only been able to take it to the dam once so far for some water sports. Hopefully some offshore trips once it calms down.

The only way to tow at the moment is using a bridal from the hooks at the rear. These are mounted quite low and the kids dont create enough drag to lift the length of rope up out of the water.

Tournament sell poles but I think I could make one just as good and save $500.

I could either make one that fits in the existing holes/rod holders where the bait board slides in but it would still need bracing onto the transom. Or I deisign a pole that has its own mounts and can stay there with the bait board in.

What do you guys think, or do you have any pics of your set up?

Here are a few pics of my boat, and some pics of poles I've found on Tournaments currently for sale.

Yeah thanks Rod.

I have a 2010 Tournament 1800 that I want to put on one for exactly the same reason as Mr240nz. Ive sent two emails to Tournament lately, one took a few weeks for a reply and now after my reply a few weeks ago, nada.

Go the diy option.
A stainless fabricator nearby would have 2" tube offcuts that would be ideal. If your handy with a welder then knock up a base plate to bolt into the floor then cut at hole in the fibre glass where the pole slides through. That area might need a beef up underneath if it's a thin section of glass.

This basic setup I built for Xmas. Slides out to fit the bait board back into. Braces back to the transom edge for those hardcore tubing whips. Not a crack, groan or fracture from this mount.
Has a receiver tube in the bilge area that pushes direct loads to the centre stringer.
Overall cost $134. Including buying a 6m length of 25mm tube for the braces. 2.5mm 316ss electrodes for the arc welder.
Not pretty yet but worked on short noticed for the build. Whole boat need paint so cosmetics don't matter.

Double check your boat insurance so you know you are covered for skiing if you go ahead.
