Does any body know if you are allowed to land base fish on the coral coat of fiji's main island?

That's where I stayed . Mate you can only fish the inside canal at high tide try of the bridge or down near the sea shell market place 30 gram slugs or very shallow lures as only 2m deep at high tide 1-3 kg trevaly and some stripy looking thing just make sure the security checks with there boss they are very uniformed staff the marine park is all the ocean and inlet so canal only unless you leave the island hope this helps

cheers Scott

Hey mate, I was there at Shangri La last year. Didn't do any land based, but went out on a charter from Nadi. Plenty of trevally around plus a few barracouta swimming around the shallow areas around the bridge.

PLENTY of sea snakes - keep your eyes out!

As a side note - if you or the missus is chasing a massage take a walk across the bridge back onto the mainland and across the road is a wooden house - they're half the price of the hotel (went there twice during my stay...).
