Yup quite a few, also saw one at redcliffe last October.
Not uncommon around Cooks Rocks as well.

Have even seen them in Scarby Marina of a night time. Plenty around the bay. Don't worry, they're very timid, even when you dive with them. Cuzza

One caught Whiting fishing in Adelaide so they will take a bait - http://m.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/deadly-sea-snake-caught-off-brighton-jetty-in-adelaides-south/story-e6frea83-1226516760978

I was fishing off Woody Is in Hervey Bay years ago with a livey on a 10/0 hook, and a big brown sea snake swallowed it.
Need less to say, I did not bother to try and get my hook back.

Saw one a couple of years ago close to shore at Shorncliffe. It was swimming in an easterly direction but towards me unfortunately. I was on a stand up paddle board and thought I was going to need to fight it off with my paddle. It didn't attack thankfully. Scared the bejesus out of me. It was not little and it was very swift. Nice to see some diversity with Moreton Bay's marine animals though.

One dark night in the early '80s mate & I were wetting lines off the Shute Harbour jetty. One of the main pests at the jetty were knot eels, probably 4-5 eels to 1 fish.
Anyway, on about my 10th eel, I was having no luck removing this particular eel from my line & asked my mate to shed some light on it with the torch.
Well, in my hand was a 3' sea snake & it was none too happy with the way I had been treating it.
Needless to say a quick line cut & drop (throw) fixed the situation.
From memory, so I could be wrong ;D, it had taken a small livey on a 4/o.

If you see them while diving they are pretty placid but get one on a hook and they aren't happy lol. I've seen a few years ago around tangalooma.
