I hope people take note of this. IMO the guy should've been fined more for such a deliberate a cruel act.

I agree with the fine for cruelty and killing a protected species, but there is HUGE hypocrisy going on when State Governments in Queensland and W.A. can legally kill these animals as part of a 'control' or 'beach safety' program. Why are these State Governments exempt from a Federal law?
