Has anyone noticed that when you zoom into google map now that the detail is lost and the picture goes dark? Is there any other websites that give better detail.

Have you tried to change the date on the toolbar, this might help.

Google EARTH.

ms virtual earth - bing maps.

Nearmaps was the best until paid membership was brought in.

I downloaded a newer version but still had the same problem ...as soon as you zoom in you lose all clarity as the shallow area black out.

Are you using google maps or google EARTH?
Use google EARTH it has a lot more functions, features and can use overlays, markers and plot distances etc. Scroll through the datebar and different times have different clarity.
