2010 plus v4 or v6 etec

Hi all.

I dont want to start a sh.. Fight here, but who has first hand experience with a 115hp plus etec newer than 2010? I'm specifically after who has had issues with an engine of this age?

I am well aware of issues with older engines but don't need to hear about them.

I'm considering buying a new 150 etec. 5 year warranty and all other etec features are very appealing.

Not sure I follow what your asking, ask about 115HP but you are looking to buy a 150HP?

Hey mate, I am sure that you are aware already but just check the whole 3 year servicing thing if used in salt water.....

Mate I have a 2010 150hp and a 2011 130hp, and both replaced earlier etecs, I personely have had a good run out of them, use them in saltwater only and the dealer asures me the dealer service schedule is fine, just do the normal maintanince and checks yourself and I haven't had an issue,The 130 had a problem it kept blowing the main fuse, but after diagnosing the problem it was the fact that the person who fitted motor(boat builder not dealer) had put the binnacle on wrong and one wire had chaffed through, so cant realy blame the motor for that,They have great power curve and I would have new ones again no worries, I also have twin 115 Yammis and they have more niggly things go wrong with them,nothing major but just annoying,eg trim sender units seizing, if your buying new with 5 year warranty you should be happy.

lots of people have a good run (seems to depend on dealer) but I you are questioning it or worried why not buy a new merc 150
I havnt got or had one but there still seems to be problems

hi we have had a 150etec on our barcrusher for 4 1/2 years now and no problems at all, great fuel consumption
its a 2010 model put on in September 2009
