washing your boat with what products ??

Hi all,


I am just wondering what types of boat wash/products you all use ?
I use my gerni with the soap dispenser to wash down my boat and trailer after use but not real impressed with my current boat wash.
Was thinking about using just car wash but not with the added wax in it, is it the same a boat wash ?
what's all your thought's on this ??

I use armorall wash and wax, keeps the boat looking really nice

+1 for the armour all wash and wax. I use an old windex outdoor bottle filled with pre-mix, hose on, hose off. About once every 6 outings i actually use a sponge and a bit (just a bit) more time on it. The trailer (Brooker...) is doing fine (5 1/2 yrs old) and still in great condition so I figure I don't need to change anything (ie more effort than now).
It's purely a fishing boat so a few unsightly aesthetic stains are ok if they remain, but otherwise it does the job just fine.

I try to use the wife but she's not really a product or is she.....mumm. Fair trading number anyone?

only the mild cleaners, not the strong ones like you see some people say they use CT truck wash etc as they will strip the wax off a fiberglass boat
I use an orange based cleaner detergent and it comes up brilliant every time AND there is never fish smell left either but fresh smell bonus from starbrite that they sell at BIAS

We stop off at the Car Wash (Hoppy's) on the way home, fill the fuel tank and give the boat the once over with their gerni, just have to run the motor when we get home.

G'day

I use carnubra wax by easygleam, a local company. It's a good quality wash and wax for cars and boats.

Do NOT use CT18, unless you want the wax and polish stripped off of your boat ;)

Morning fresh for dishes car boat armpits and a wax every 6 months

Water only for me and then a quick chamois ...Matt

I just keep the wax up to my boat so fresh waters all thats needed from there.

I also use salt away on the trailer and engines and has been working really well to date
