Hi all. Have a boat hire booked for Monday and planning a cruise and some tubing for the kids around the Tipplers area (Tipplers Island, Slippy Sands). As luck would have it we will be launching at the bottom of the tide so just wondering what the best ramp to go to. Was considering either Jacob's Well or Paradise Point. The boat is a 5.3m plate alum if that makes a diff.

Wind forecast looks marginal at 10-15 knots northerly but hopefully it's not too bad (and certainly gets worse later in the week). If the wind doesn't cooperate might have to change plans and head up to one of the dams instead.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
Andrew

Where are you picking boat up from? Weinman ck at redlands is a good ramp and you pass slipping sands on way down to jumpinpin tipplers etc.

Actually I was originally thinking of going in at Redland Bay - what's the ramp like at low tide?

Pickup is from Albany Ck the night before and return after a washdown. We live at Rochedale Sth (near Springwood).

reddy bay will give you more boat time and less car time. no worries at low tide but make sure you have a chart. a lot of boats come to grief on the banks south of slipping sands. a 5.3 will wear an awful lot of wind down there too.

There's a white line painted on the rock wall on the coast guard side at Weinam creek. It let's you know roughly where the end of the ramp is.
I've never had any problems at low tide there.
