Someone told me that if I am not planning to use my boat for awhile, to remove the spark plugs and pour a tablespoon of 2 stroke oil inside then
Replace the plug. Anyone doing this?

Depends on your idea of "a while"

You wouldnt even contemplate that unless you were looking at not using it for at least 6 months. Maybe more.

You can buy a pressure pack can of fogging oil from evinrude and others . Used OS to winterise motors that will be left for the whole of winter .
Fogging properly shops rust on crankcbearings etc not only the bore.
Search winterising a outboard and you see what the procedure is. Owners manuals have it in them.

In reference to the 2 stroke oil in the bore - well nothing wrong with that but after it is in turn the motor over with teh plug out and it will line the boreand spit any excess out. Problem is it can add to faster gumming up of rings and doesn't protect the crankcase or fuel system.
