Assuming all equipment levels are the same, what do you think the value would be of a 2012 Kevlacat 2400 Offshore over a 2006 model? i.e. how much price difference do you think should be attributed to the age?

Also were there any changes Kevlacat made from the 2006 model to the 2012 model? In the pics I can see the windscreen is silver in the 2012 model vs black in the 2006 model. I can also see a transom door in the 2012 model, which the 2006 doesn't have, but I think that was just an option on all years anyway. Anything else?

Not from 06 I don't think there were mate. Around 04 the pods changed allowing for 150s rather than 140s..Like you said the windscreen & that's about it.. The rest were options always available. (Could be wrong though)

So hard at the moment with not a lot of movement in the boat sales dept. as you can see from the length of time boats sit for sale. People are looking at some really low prices just to sell.
I'd say from what I can see.. Assuming the boats have similar aged/hour outboards, elecs etc then I'd say 110k ish for the 2012 & 80ish for the 06.
Remember.. These are what I think is realistic for today's market.. Not what they r worth or should sell for etc. I reckon anything newer than 2010 - 100k + ,between say 05 & 2010 - 80 / 100k.
Just my thoughts...

Why would anybody want to do that ?

I reckon a walk through transom is a must on a 2400. I did not have one on mine and really missed it. The motors stick out a long way. 2010 on $100-110k all others $80-90k. Been a lot of them sitting on boatpoint not selling.

Yeah agree it seems like there aren't many boats selling. Have been watching a number of rigs on BoatPoint just to see what the market is doing and only a very few have sold and those ones were very competitively priced. Seems other sellers aren't even trying to attract attention with price movements. One I was watching actually put the price up!

Have watched a few of kaypee's vids and it seems the walk-through transom on his KC2100 is the prime fishing spot. Can understand how having this option would be a benefit.

And yeah seems like the latest models are > $100k and the older ones are between $80k and $100k. Am keeping a close eye out and getting ready to make a few cash offers to see what happens.

I looked at quite a few with a mate recently (who bought one). Most (not all) sellers were willing to come down close to 10%less than listed prices. There has been more 2400s for sale in recent months than there was in years gone by. A lot around 2006 model as well.

Yeah realise there will be room to move.....just depends on how much. Of course I am not looking to screw the seller, but the specific boat I am looking at will need to come down a bit more than 10% to be on the money.

Personally I wouldn't get another cat without a walk thru transom.. Possibly one of the best things about a cat! Never pers seen a 2400 with one but can only imagine it being awesome. Makes a world of difference to my boat...

Thanks for the real-world feedback. Adds weight to my decision. That will be my only fishing spot though! LOL
