The old widow maker strikes again. :(

Yeah Gazza - always mindful of it when camping, hunting or landbased fishing, but wouldn't think of it in a yak or a boat.

Never any good when a fellow fisherman kicks it but at least he died doing what he loved...

Such a shame and the last thing he was expecting I bet....I remember when just 6 years old (40 odd years ago now) fishing from the 12 foot punt on the Murrumbidgee river with my father, we untied (well I did) from one snag near the bank and motored upstream to another one when a huge redgum branch calved away and into the water right on top of where we where fishing not 30minutes ago.

Seen couple limbs and one whole tree hit the water since but never again where I just was.

I took my daughter to an organized weekend camp out a while ago and when helping the leaders set up the big tent for the kids I looked up to see it was well under a big gum tree branch in the dry season.

Traditional outdoor habits die hard, I will not allow it if I can make the call.
