Where to go?

Looking to go on a 5-7 day fishing trip next year. Can be any time. Live in Lennox Head NSW and would probably drive, so anything over 1 day hard driving would cut into the fishing.
Have a canoe with electric and a 14ft (old ) tinny for estuary work (def not offshore). Like to throw lures landbased.
Where should I go. Campsite probably the option, but could sleep bush.

Mate some of the rivers around Bundaberg are only half a day drive from here and there's access to Barra if you whack the canoe in and explore around. Nothing pretty or flash though. Otherwise just drive the whole day until you get as far north as you possibly can and start there. I assume you're interested in heading north and not south?
If south is the idea then maybe hit the trout impoundments in the snowy mountains? They're a solid days drive but there's alot of other freshwater options on the way.
