Sea Ray 175 Looking to buy, but made in China. Is this a problem?

Looked at a Sea-Ray 175 today and when I looked at the HIN indiates that it's a chinese make. Is that normal for this model or is it a shonky grey import.

Any advice appreciated

Is it being sold through a dealer? Is it new and does it come with a warranty? I found some Sea Rays built in China and sold through alibaba.com, so not sure if they are legit or ripoffs. If it is from a dealer with warranty etc then you may be ok but would be very wary of a private sale especially if it is a new boat.


I would check those welds!! They are a glass boat mate.

If they are an appointed dealer then you will have no probs.

If they are not then chances are they are grey imported from another part of the world and the dealer would be carrying the warranty of there own bat.

Buying private. I have checked with Sea Ray HQ and it was imported by a dealer so hopefully should be fine. Thanks all
