Probably closer to 2007 for the hull.

moreso...dont believe it is even a sharkcat . people use that as generic name to describe a twin hull. so maybe it is a 2009 cheap knock off copy looking at the sponsoon shapes that AINT a sharkcat

It is about as genuine Shark Cat as my aluminium canoe is.

They were made on the Gold Coast. "New Generation Shark Cat"

Not sure but they look like a South African design to me and always have.

More than likely a south african boat bought in. I didn't think they were made on the gold coast rather imported to there. They were coming into WA one part I was told.

If it sounds too good to be true.....

Actually I was searching for TLD 30 reels on gumtree when I came across this boat as the guy is throwing in a TLD with the sale. Anyway, I sent this query to the vendor on gumtree:

Sharkcat? I thought Sharkcats halted production when they were bought out by Noosacat some years ago. Is this a SouthAfrican import?

Have a look at them on a South african site, they're cats are quite cheep in comparison. They are quite lightweight compared to ours though in their build. From what I've been told by a couple of ex SA guys they are built for beach lauching and landing and also run smaller motors hense why the hulls are more like 2 monos put together. They are very basic boats usually just the seats and steering and deck, fuel used to be just like 4 jerry cans that you switched the take up hose as it ran empty. Due to their light weight they tend to only get about 10yeaars out of a hull. Now this is just what I've been told by 2 south african guys who are very keen fishermen and did alot of it back home. I think 1 had went through 4 boats, well his father did. I do believe they handle quite well and are usually fast for the motor size because of the shape of the sponsons.

Yep. Right again Ausfishers. Here is the reply I got from the seller:

"That is correct, it is a South African import and converted and marketed as a Shark cat. From what I understand from the previous owner it was originally a Cobra cat before the conversion."

Not a very good looking hull IMHO. wide flat sponsons, shallow tunnel. small for size.
