hi all what size is my gear box? its off a 1999 70 hp evinrude 4stroke the mod nu is E70PL4EE can someone help.

Are you after part numbers or gear ratio?

What do you mean " size"

It is neither a evinrude v4 or v6 box as used on all the ficht and 2 strokes of that era as far as I know. I am not 100% sure it is a rude box? If it was it will have common parts except driveshaft and gearchange . I can't remember but was that the same time as they were doing models in conjunction with Suzuki?

You measure from the underside of the " clamp" ( where it goes over the transom) to cav plate ( flat horizontal bit above the prop).

15 inch standard
20 inch long L
25 inch extra long XL


More important is to measure your transom height to make sure your motor leg length is correct as the wrong combo causes dangerous handling
