Hi all, im looking for a fuel flow meter, prefer to install an analog ( old paddle wheel version ). just wondering what people know about them brands, price etc. I have a 2013 DF70 Suzuki. I don't think it needs to be high flow? Any help much appreciated.

Thanks Snokeen01:)

Pretty sure it cant be done with anolouge gauges. You need the digital sims gauges. Go to the suzuki forum plenty of info on there.

Hi I had a Farina fuel flow meter on my last boat and I was delighted with its performance. Cheap and easy to install.

Hello snokeen01,

have a look at this website, it will provide typical figures

Is there some particular reason that you want a flow meter?
That motor would use so little fuel anyway.

Crocodile - I have a 40yammi 4 strk and I use a flow meter. Why? The warm fuzzy feeling of knowing exactly how much fuel I have left in the tank. Pure and simple it just 'feels' better to me to know exactly where I'm at with respect to remaining fuel when I'm 20m offshore.

Hi crocodile my fuel gauge is not accurate. Would be nice to know how many liters I have used so I have got a bit of an idea whats left. Like spelcheck said. Just a bit of reassurance when on the water.

Yes me too. Excellent little laser and turbine transducer but I think there is an alternative brand you can buy now...navman no longest I thought.

Cheers

you can get this just by experience. I suggest using your log on your GPS. When you fill up each time make a mental note of how many litres per NM you use. You'll get a good idea pretty quickly.

Thanks all. Myusernam that would be good if I got to use a bit more, had it 6 months and put about 6 hours on it. Will get more use when bub gets a bit older. Looking forward to getting it out more next year. Hopefully a few trips to hinchinbrook.
