Etec 75hp lost key

Is there a way to start an etec without the key ? Mate & I heading out tomorrow but he has lost his only key to his 75 etec . Called aust marine centre and the fella who knows where the keys are has gone home & wynum marine are closed ! Does anyone know how we can start her without a key ? Cheers

Can you manual start it with the pullcord/rope around the top of the motor. Apparently you can with my 90 etec.

You need the key to switch the ignition on first before pull starting. I pull start my 40 etec from time to time to make sure I know how to do it. Unsure if it can be hot wired but I guess so. BRP supplied me with two keys, where is the second key?

He never had a second key when he bought the boat & was always "getting around to it " . It's ok I'll drop in to aust marine centre tomorrow for him & get him 2 new keys

I used a flat head screwdriver to start my 90etec for about 18months after I managed to snap both of my keys one weekend.
