I have been in contact with MSQ for over twelve months, since they removed the bouy at the wells during construction of the new bridge, to have the bouy replaced. It seems that it is easier to close it to navigation than replace the bouy. A pity that it took at least two accidents before they did anything about it. Are they going to place the same information at the deep water bend boat ramp, douyles rocks ramp and other launching places in the vicinity, I doubt it.
Makes you wonder where our registration fees go to.

Split shot i have been wondering the same thing. What are they saying about relocating the markers through there?
Launched at clontarf and went for a strap up the pine today. 3 Boats up hayes as i came back across the bay. I doubt it will stop any of the regular hayes fishers , but may prevent somebody who doesnt know the area from running aground on the rocks.
Like you say , easier to stick a sign up than actually mark the channel properly!

This way they have removed themselves completely from litigation.
I suppose that if they can not provide signs for safe traffic then they would need to remove it all and close the area to safe navigating. If they did keep it marked and it was not correct due to shoaling they could be held accountable.
