Do you need an anchor to venture offshore??

My Stress Free is playing up & needs to come out of the boat & get serviced. Trouble is, this Fridays looking good for a wide trip to the Hards, & I'd hate to miss the opportunity if my winch is out & yes, you need an anchor to head offshore.

Thanks Nicko.

I know my missus will be up me if I went without one, but at least I can show her this.

Went wide with Hookinin a couple of weeks ago on the Hards, & he just drifted us over the marks all day. Much less stressful than trying to get the anchor holding & getting us right on the mark.

But saying that, Gaven didn't have a winch & did say we could anchor if I wanted to retrieve.

72m- I passed!

I'm amazed that an anchor is only recommended.
