I've caught a few of these in my cast net around the Brissy river but saw a few guys getting them at Woody point last night and no one knew what they were. 92946

Definitely a hardyhead. Great snapper bait, especially in shallow water in the Bay.

Technique: single 4/0 long shank hook, tiny pea sinker directly above it if required.

Insert hook hear the tail and push thru the HH until the hook comes out the fish's eye. Half hitch around the tail.

Cast in, catch snapper. Done!

If you get bites but dont hook up, you will see the HH has head its head bitten off when you wind in. A sure and certain sign that small snapper are around.

We used to catch them in lift nets off the jetty that was at Cleveland Point many years ago.

Probably my all time favorite bait for Redcliffe and the Pummicestone Passage.
Similar method as described above except I use a 2/0 octopus hook usually with a 000 sinker or shot ahead of it if needed. Redcliffe usually requires no lead.
