I only ever knew the Nova as a smooth sided hull not clinker like yours, it looks like a Yalta Odessa or Weekender

On the rego sticker it says nova craft , nova 25

I wouldn't go off the rego papers, a Nova 25 would be a flybridge cruiser? im not completely sure but from the photo i'd swear its a Yalta, is there no Builders plate on there somewhere? If it it a Yalta its worth much more than a Nova anyway

I wouldn't go off the rego papers, a Nova 25 would be a flybridge cruiser? ... They also made a sedan - same boat/hardtop but no flybridge. And no, its not one of these! The boat in question would easily fit inside a Nova 25. And it's not a Nova 19 either.

... im not completely sure but from the photo i'd swear its a Yalta ... would have to agree with you there oldie! And I agree, they never made a clinker hull (to my knowledge/memory anyway)

Clarkman, don't want to be an alarmist, but something doesn't smell right! Could just be a balls-up or two.... or could be a re-birthed stolen boat! Go on to the web and email Peter Webster a photo of your boat at 'The Boat Mag' (formerly Sea Media). He owned a Nova 19 and would have tested them all over the years. Then decide if you need to make some legal enquiries.
cheers

It really does look like a Yalta 189. The only difference that I can see us the window shape. Try emailing Yalta direct. They are very helpful. If it is not one they will let you know for sure and that rules one possibility out.
None of the Nova's I found even in old mags look like that. Interesting.

If it was once Boatcoded in nsw they would need to give a description or make, sometimes this can mean un educated people call it something it is not, then when it gets sold again and maybe changed into QLD the old owner goes off the NSW rego papers etc etc etc so mistakes can be made like old clarks being called stacer etc

But as Gofishin has stated its best to figure out exactly what model it is and follow up with ex owner

Hello Clarkman,

I do not think Yalta, most of the Yaltas that size have 5 clinkers in the topsides and three strakes per side, your photo suggest 4 clinkers and two strakes.
More photos would help.
Unlike any Nova that I recall.
I would be leaning towards a Huntsman 19 (scarce).
Consider that when that boat was made there were many builders that only lasted a short time and made not too many boats.

Hello gofishin,
I know the 19 that you mean, there was a matching 21 as well and they had the deep forefoot and external chine.
I have seen a low-profile cabin with clinkers that had a huntsman sticker, maybe someone swapped the stickers!

Check the yalta craft home page and look at the vintage yalta crafts, I think you wil see the similarities.

Pretty much a waste of bandwidth uploading those photos for an id. Maybe if you try a bit harder to help yourself more people would try and help you?

I am thinking it is one of these with different side windows, but more and better pics would help...

Triangle windows are wrong, there a couple of Yalta, that match that boat.

something fishy going on here..
