Hi all. Quick question. The gunnel strip on my boat has a brownish stain on the high side almost like it is sunburnt.
How can I restore this to the white it should be?

It probably is sun burnt. Mine is the same and eventually it will get brittle too. My neighbour who does some detailing says in the first few years of their life you can "clean" them up with acetone but we have some doubts about the long term viability of this. I suspect it would make it look cleaner but also dry it out even more so the brittleness issue occurs even faster. Probably live with it and consider replacing it later.

I have some other stuff for you too so I'll email you.

Cheers

You can get gumption ( a bathroom cleaner, ask the boss, she probably has some already) from Woolworths or in your case Safeway in Horsham. Its also great to clean stainless steel props and if you coat them and trim tabs with Johnson's Paste wax which you used to be able to get at the same place they will stay good too.

Did you get the email?
