Hey everyone I've bought a 4.9m clark abalone and then bought a 115hp Johnson I think the year is mid 80s it has a 25inch leg but the boat only has a 20 inch transom I have purchased a jack plate and it is at its highest point besides unbolting it from the transom and moving it up, but its spraying a crap load of water up the back of the boat to the sides of the motor and I had a look while the boat was going and it seems like the water is coming straight from the hull and that's at full trim and another thing is max speed is only like 35mph .the outboard mechanic told me that the height is we're it is ment to be but I'm not convinced it is can anyone help me up I'm thinking that because of all the weight in the back and the jack plate pushing it off the transom 150 mm that it would need to be raised more.

Or see this one from the USA, it includes instructions on how to test engine height and propellors, and has pictures that really tell you more than a thousand words ever could!
